The treatment was originally developed for topaz stones. As demand grew, scientists figured out the way to apply their therapy to quartz at the same time. Why is that great? three causes: (1) Quartz and topaz share equivalent optical properties, so you cannot tell the difference visually. (2) Quartz is readily out there in bigger sizes.
