You cannot disable a vehicle speed sensor on any EFI vehicle without causing a host of problems. I'm not sure why anybody would want to.
12 oclock position on aft end of transmission. be carefull disable this sensor and you will loose mph or rpm. then mileage is paused while you drive. so sad for the sucker buyin it thinking it has low miles..lol shout out to my Cadillac owners.
1. operates the speedometer and odometer. 2. provides vehicle speed information to the engine and transmission controllers.
in the pcm. don't make em with govenors anymoreAnswerThere is a speed limiter if this is what you mean. It is set right about 120mph. In mine it hits about 121-122ish. . depending on what Mazda 6 you have. you may not have a speed sensor. a V6 Mazda 6 with ABS doesnt have a speed sensor........the speed is calculated thru the abs sensors and is intertwined with the TCS system.the 6 ecu is multi plex and the only way to disable the speed limiter is with tuning(reprogramming the ecu)
not sure the exact location of the wire in the harness, but i can tell you that the speed sensor has 2 wire leads, that run directly to the PCM. they are in ports 20 and 21 on the PCM wire connector. Pin 20 is for speed sensor low signal and is Light green and black in color. Pin 21 is for speed sensor high signal and is purple and white in color
take out the engine speed sensor in the transmission or transfer case depending if its manual or automatic
Are you trying to disable the 106 speed limit or change what is called the Vehicle Speed Sensor? If its just switching the VSS, you have to remove the air intake, then it is the plug on top of the Transmission... Check out more info here Http://www.teamzx2.com
