you just have to cut the speedometer positive wire, the speedometer will not work but your car will be faster
The engine computer is the rev limiter. You would need a devise capable of reprogramming the engine computer.
You do not get rid of the speed limiter. It is in the engine control computer and you would have to have it reprogrammed.
I my experiece (not that I would know *caugh*) you can get past the speed limiter eventually, you just need a longer stretch of road and a steady foot ;)
I heard some people remove a fuse which will kill many things including the speed limiter but that isn't really safe. The better solution is to get a unichip which would in the same time add some horsepower as well as removing the speed limiter
Why in the hell would you want to? You will burn your transmission up if you do, for sure.
It would be incorrect to and improper to answer a question that could aid a car thief.
You would need to reprogramme the engine controls to do this, which would require you to purchase the Volvo software. Upon acquiring the software, you could adjust the engine controls via a laptop, but be prepared to pay a very hefty price for that software. Also, in some countries, what you're proposing may be illegal.
You cannot disable a vehicle speed sensor on any EFI vehicle without causing a host of problems. I'm not sure why anybody would want to.
If your question is How do you steal a 2000 cavalier?, then I know a few jails that would love to have you. If it truly belongs to you, take it to where you got it and ask someone educated in the arts of 2000 cavaliers.
125 or so EDIT: My stock GTP would top out at 125, I have since then chipped it and removed the limiter and it topped at 138. Now I have mine slightly modded and got clocked by highway patrol at 149 and I still had some to go.
Yes but why would you? the rev limiter stops you from blowing it up...
The 2005 Cavalier with the 2.2L engine and a manual 5 speed transmission would get 23 miles per gallon city.
