Best to get a gunsmith to help you.
take bolt off
slide the spring to the 2nd hole and go from there
Open the action and fire it while pulling the bolt toward you as if you were aiming the gun.
To disassemble Savage Model 29, separate the operating handle from the breech bolt. Move it halfway before pushing down.
There is a pin that has to be driven out. It passes thru the front section of bolt and is off-center
the model 583.16 is a j.c. Higgins "model 10" bolt action. sears has issued a volentary recall on them. at the time of the recall they were offering a $160 "finders fee" for the return of the bolt from the shotgun .
The 282 is the Winchester model 521 made for sears
That shotgun was made for Sears by Savage/Stevens and is basically the Stevens 59A bolt-action. Remove the takedown screw from the bottom of the stock and separate the metal from the wood. Remove the bolt stop screw from the left side of the receiver and remove the bolt rearward. We do not recommend any further disassembly.
