The old-style glass fuses pry out easily enough with a screwdriver if you are careful to not crack the glass. There are also plastic hook-shaped tools that you might still be able to find at the parts store. If you have tough-enough fingers you can just pull them out.
In a 1966 Mustang, the ignition fuse is typically located in the fuse box, which is found under the dashboard on the driver's side. The fuse box cover will have a diagram showing the function of each fuse. The ignition fuse is usually labeled, allowing for easy identification. If you're experiencing electrical issues, checking this fuse first is a good starting point.
The fuse box is above the driver's side kick panel, below the dash, to the left of the steering wheel.
The power top on a 66 Mustang convertible doesn't have a fuse. There is a circuit breaker attached to the hot side of the starter solenoid with a wire that goes to the switch on the dash, and the wiring goes from the switch to the pump/motor assembly that is mounted between the trunk and the rear seat back. No fuse.
