Not sure on the disconnect part, but after you start the truck, push your dome light on and off 4 times, you will hear it chime, the daytime running lights will then be out. But you gotta do it each time you start the vehicle....
even if you disconnect the battery the headlights stay on????????????? check the headlight switch
Not usually. Disconnect it and see what happens.
You will need to first disconnect the electrical connection behind the headlights. You can then detach the cover and dry out the headlight. Make sure the source is not a cracked lens.
To adjust the headlights on a 2004 Nissan Quest, open the hood and look at the back of the headlamp assembly. Disconnect the wiring connection and turn the bulb socket to make adjustments.
There is a voltage regulator located on the internals of you alternator replace the altenator. Voltage regulator keeps voltage constant and stops spikes in power output, this is what is causing your headlights to blow.
When the headlights don't turn off when you turn off the car, the issue is probably a stuck relay. If you disconnect the battery for a few minutes they will go out. This is just a temporary fix until you can get it to a mechanic.
# Open hood # Disconnect negative battery cable # Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the headlight reflector # Rotate the retaining ring about 1/8 turn counterclockwise and slide it off the base
i doubt this will work but it worked on a ford tuarus, disconnect the battery and turn on headlights for 5 to 10 minutes then reassemble
command start malfunction, disconnect, problem solved.
I just had this problem. First check your fuses then disconnect the relay and reconnect it, they get loose from time to time i need to find the fuse
there would either be a short to power in your switch / a short to power in your wiring somewhere between the battery and the bulb . somewhere in there electricity is constant and completely cuts out the selector switch. the lights turn off when you disconnect the battery because that is the only time that power is not applied to the bulbs.
i know this will sound silly but first make sure the headlights themselves are not blown.you would be surprised how many Kia's come into my shop with headlights not working and all the headlights are blown. after that get a volt meter and disconnect the light and test to see if you have power , remember the dimmer switches are famous for cold solder joints and will also cause this problem.
