In order to replace the drivers side mirror on a Buick Rendezvous, you will need to remove the door panel. You will have to disconnect the electrical connector and you will be able to remove the mirror and place the new one on.
Remove the panel on top of the door panel it's a little access panel that clips on. After doing so their are 3 ten milimeter bolts hoding the mirror to the door. If it's a manual mirror on the drivers side then there will be one screw holding the lever in the panel and u have to remove that screw to remove the mirror.
I had my compass go wacky on my 2004 saturn vue there is a procedure in the owners manual it involves pressing the button on the mirror and driving slowly in a circle yes this is true check your manual
The passenger side mirror is manual. Move it by pushing on the mirror itself. Most cars are like this, I know it kinda stinks, but thank goodness we have a knob on the drivers side.

You first need to remove the triangle shaped trim piece inside the door opposite the mirror. It just pries out with a screwdriver. Then disconnect the electrical connections if a powered mirror. Undo the 3 bolts holding it and then remove the mirror. -RC-

take the inner door panel off or loose so you can get to the 3 10 millimeter nuts that hold the mirror on and take the nuts off and if the mirror is elecrtric you will have to disconnect the wires to it and then your ready to pull the mirror off.
You have to remove the door panel to disconnect wires (power mirrors). After that you have to remove the triangle panel which covers mirror nuts. After you removed the nuts carefully pull the mirror away. It's attached with a sticky tape, you might have to use some extra force. When you are done separating the mirror you can disconnect the cable and remove the mirror by pulling it away.
your local library may have a free shop manual to peek at.. good luck Dave
Replace it with a good old fashioned manual mirror, believe me you will have less headaches and more money!
Usually, to replace any power mirror, you must first remove the inside door panel. From there you should have access to the rear of the mirror. There has to be some screws (usually 3 screws) holding the mirror in place. Also follow the wires from the mirror to where it is connected and disconnect.
