Depending on which model it could be a pain in the buttock. I had to do mine about 5 years ago. I had to go on line and down load the parts break down to figure it out. Craftsman is actually one of the better web sites as far as finding stuff because their model numbers are very specific (like 5 or 6 numbers long) so there are not to many dead ends. When you get to it just remember to take pictures of the odd looking parts as far as how they go together.

How does the steering wheel control a car?

The simple explaination is there are gears at the bottom of the shaft which turn other gears in the steering box which move an arm which moves a series of linkages attached to the front wheels. In a rack & pinion, instead of gears in a box there are hydraulics that move tie rods connected to the wheels

Integral power steering gears use for lubrication of the unit.?

Integral power steering gears typically use a specialized lubricant, often a power steering fluid, to ensure smooth operation and reduce friction between moving parts. This fluid not only lubricates the gears but also helps in transferring hydraulic pressure needed for steering assistance. Regular maintenance and fluid replacement are essential to prevent wear and ensure optimal performance of the steering system. Using the correct type of fluid is crucial, as it affects the efficiency and longevity of the power steering gear.
