Two ways:
Highlight the text you wish to change into bold, hold down the control button (Ctrl) and push "B"
In the toolbar above the text box click on the "B" and start typing.
Your text will now be bold.

Bold text should be used in writing to emphasize important words or phrases, highlight headings or subheadings, or to make text stand out for better readability.

You put equal signs: = on both sides of the text that you want to be BOLD. While typing answers, you can just click on the white bold "B" for bold letters. = Like this! = It doesn't work in our answers but it does in messages. And in messages, the equal signs will not show.
