I have the same question. Only I have a 2004 Explorer Sports Trac XLT.
Probably inside the door latch mechanism
The light switch is located above the hatch door ceiling.
Yes
If your interior light is also on, replace the door switch.
Owners manual will assist you
The switch can be found under the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle, closest to the door.
Inside the door, on the back of the door latch/lock assembly.
Try opening and closing each door one at a time and wait for the dome light to go out before proceding to the next door..when u get to the door where the dome light stays on, that's the one with the bad door switch
Fuse, bulb, wiring, door switch, switch on overhead light.
If there is no obvious damage to the wiring, it is probably the electric motor inside the door. This is a very simple fix on the Explorer so I imagine it is also on the Expedition.
if you take off the door panel there will be three studs that connect the mirror to the door
If you don't mind me asking... Why are you changing the door switch ? If it's sticking or the interior lights are staying on. Try this trick. Spray WD-40 on all door locks including the rear door hatch. This will fix the problem.
