It depends on the detail required and to what purpose it is to be put to. I can get detail levels to create a contour map of hundreds of acres in 4 hours. Conversely, 4 hours may not be enough to do a detailed survey on a small house and garden in a city.
Generally the detail you need will be levels, trees, fences, buildings, services, drainage and roads but there may be a need to get more.
A large scale map (covers a small area) shows more detail as there is more space to show detail. A small scale map (covers a large area or even a whole country, etc) doesn't have much space, so any detail is either shrunk or even omitted altogether.
An ordnance survey map of an area can be located by going to the OS website. They provide various tools that allow people to find which map they want and which scale of detail they want. The maps are sold online directly or through many newsagents.
A survey of experts in an area of study is often referred to as an expert opinion poll or an expert consensus survey.
A small scale map covers a large area, but with less detail due to lack of space on the map. A large scale map covers a smaller area, but in much more detail. A small scale map may show the whole of the UK motorway system, and major roads. A large scale map may show the details of farms, villages, and physical features in great detail.
If details are needed (larger) smaller or fewer details (small)
extreme swagger is the apparent answer. Just kidding. Large scale maps are usually used for a bigger city to show more of a general space. On the other hand smaller scales are used for more detail
There are three main types of maps according to scale: small scale maps, medium scale maps, and large scale maps. Small scale maps show a large area with less detail, medium scale maps cover a moderate area with more detail, and large scale maps provide detailed information for a small area.
detailed information about a specific area or region, typically including geography, landmarks, roads, and other features. Large scale maps are useful for navigating and understanding the layout of a particular area in greater detail.
The choice between a small scale map and a large scale map depends on the level of detail and the area you are interested in. A large scale map, which covers a smaller area with more detail, is ideal for navigation in urban environments or for detailed planning. Conversely, a small scale map covers a larger area but with less detail, making it suitable for understanding broader geographic trends or regional planning. Assess your needs—whether you require intricate details or a general overview—to determine which type of map to use.

Pattern of Land division used in an area
1.useful in areas which are difficult to be accesed while chain survey is limited 2.less subjective to errors,in comparison to chain survey which subjected with errors such as change in chain length 3.useful in surveying a large area since it uses transverse(taking bearing from observer to an object ana vice versa is true) 4.it is accurate method for mapping, compare to chain survey
