To remove spare a tire from a GMC Envoy pull at the base of the cable this should free the bracket under the tire. Then take your jack lift up on the tire and slide it off. If you can not remove the bracket you can go to an auto shop and have it removed.

Just inside the door sill for the rear hatch, on the passenger's side, is a small plastic tab with a jack logo on it Lift this tab to show the bolt which drops the spare. Use the tire iron to turn it.
