It depends on how wet you got it. If you submerged it in water very fast and i mean a quick 2 second dunk then you let it air dry but if you drop it in the sink or pool you need to take it dry the outside and put it in a bowl completely submerged in whit rice. If you had it in your pocket and it got aplahed with water leave it to airdry. In all cases if you dry the way i said there is no sure way to make sure it works afterwards, these are just the best way. If it goes through the washer, falls in salt water or in chlorinated water and stays submerged for more than 15-20 seconds i would say its dead if not put it in the rice.
Dry it
put it in a dry place
Dry it out?
Using a dry cloth (one that won't scratch the glass) for external drying.
Do not attempt to turn the iPod on or plug it into the computer. Leave it in a dry location for 2-3 weeks to allow it to completely dry out. Then try to turn it on or plug it in. It might work, but chances are it will not.
Dry it off quickly!

When an iPod is damaged by water, one should first start by attempting to remove the iPod from water. The person should next attempt to dry off as much water from the outside of the iPod. Next, one should attempt to dry water that is inside iPod with hair dryer or with a heat-source. If these steps do not save the iPod from permanent water damage, one should bring the iPod to an Apple store and ask for help. If the Apple store tells you that the iPod needs to have a part replaced you can let them fix it or bring it to a local repair shop.
You are way off! What you have to do is put it in a bowl of DRY rice for at least a day.(to be sure it draws the moisture) Once its been in there a while you see if it works, if it doesn't your out of luck, if it does then charge it awhile. My brother recently did that and he just followed these simple instructions! Good luck fixing you ipod. ( DO NOT BLOW DRY YOUR IPOD!!!!)
No, salt might short out the circuitry in the device once it is turned on. Place the iPod in a bowl/bag/container of uncooked rice. The rice will draw out the moisture in the iPod, leaving it dry and usable.
