You sell the resource that is worth the most at one trading post and also buy the cheapest, then continue doing that in a clockwise circle.

If you have all the crew members and a good ship, you can attack pirates and sea creatures.

You buy larger ships from the shipbuilders at Dragon Cove. When you first get the raft, you need to raise 3000 doubloons to buy the smallest ship. You can do this by salvage or by trade. As you get larger ships, you earn doubloons faster.

How much money is a phoenix warship on Skullduggery Island?

You will need 1,000,000 doubloons to buy the final, largest ship. But you are supposed to buy a larger ship whenever you can afford it, starting with the Jimmy Rigger for 3000 doubloons. As you get larger ships, you can earn doubloons faster. If you pay off all your loans, you only need 500,000 doubloons, because you can borrow an equal amount from the Golden Harbor Bank.

How do you get the governor to look at the treasure map on Skullduggery Island?

He doesn't need to see the map. He knows where the treasure is buried. Once you recover the 5 map pieces, revealing the small island Skullduggery, you still have to earn enough doubloons to buy the Phoenix Warbird, and hire the Shipwright and Cannoneer. Only when you have defeated Captain Crawfish will the governor give you the directions to the buried treasure.

How do you earn doubleoons on Skullduggery Island?

find broken boats and then sell them

Where is captain crawfish and how do you beat him on Skullduggery Island?

He is sailing at the lower right of the map, near the Pirate Outpost, and will occasionally attack you there. Once you have the 5 pieces of the map, the small island Skullduggery appears, and he will challenge you whenever you sail near there. You can only sink him with a Phoenix warbird, so buy a new larger ship whenever you can afford one, so you can quickly earn more doubloons. (see the related question)

Why do the doubloons always disappear when you earn money on Skullduggery Island?

The doubloon count does not reflect a "score", but rather a "bank account". When you sell salvage or cargo, the "cash" (doubloons) goes up. When you buy cargo to carry from an island, you spend doubloons, and your "cash" goes down.If your ship is sunk by a pirate, creature, or other feature (storm, reef, whirlpool), you lose 10% of your total doubloons and either 10% or 13% of the cargo onboard. This means you are often better off buying the next larger ship (or crew) before cannon fights -- you will have less cash to lose (and possibly more cannons to use).

Where can you get a cannon on Skullduggery Island?

Cannons are part of the larger ships that you can buy with doubloons at Dragon Cove. Earn doubloons by :picking up salvage (above Dragon Cove, or between Parrot Port and Golden Harbor)buying and selling on the five islandssinking sea creatures (mostly near Dragon Cove)sinking pirate ships -- the salvage will pop up shortly after the ship sinks
