Talk to them everyday, give gifts everyday, you can even work part-time at the shop they work/live at.

for animals (wild):

talk to them and give them gifts, you can give them a couple gifts unlike with people.

for animals(farm):

Cows, Horse, Goats, Sheep:

brush them, talk to them, feed them by hand, and milk Cows & Goats everyday

Chickens, Ostraches, Ducks, Silk Worms:

talk to them and hand feed them every day

let them out only AFTER you feed them by hand
