How do you eliminate this Word problem that I have where anywhere there should be a space there's a dot instead and at every end of paragraph or new line there's the P-paragraph symbol?

Hold down CTRL + SHIFT & press "8" (or click the Pilcrow mark in the toolbar). When you see these marks, you are seeing spaces as middle dots and paragraph marks as pilcrows. They will not print; they are there simply to show you where you are entering the non-printing characters. If you hold SHIFT and press ENTER, for example, you put in a line feed instead of a paragraph mark, and it looks like a little down-left arrow.
