One of the keys to the enjoyment of learning is to appreciate that everything is a learning experience! "Failure" is only another chance to learn - actually, a negative response teaches you more than a positive one in most cases! If you see life as a never-ending opportunity to learn something new, you will watch for new knowledge and seek out the lessons in each experience. Another way to enjoy learning is to relate whatever you are trying to learn to something that you really like - if you don't enjoy learning math, then try to figure out how to use math in whatever hobby you do enjoy. Finding the connections between things is another form of learning, and helps you to better appreciate all aspects of learning. The basic outlook that I have noticed which makes a difference is the lack of fear of new experiences. Science has shown that people who try new things, who embrace new ideas, retain their mental faculties longer than people who resist change. If you are not afraid to learn new things, you will enjoy life to the fullest, and will remain more alert as you age.
