Just plug in the camera. If iPhoto doesn't launch, open the iPhoto preferences and make it the default program.
The Flip cameras record in the H.264 MP4 format which can be used by most software. On a Mac it is often better to import the video from the camera into iPhoto and then Quit iPhoto and launch iMovie which will find the videos in iPhoto and make them available for editing and sharing.
First, you'll need a wire that connects the camera with the USB port, or a device that has an insert for the memory card for the camera that connects it to the USB port in the computer. Then, you must open up iPhoto. iPhoto will automatically recognize it after loading the pictures you already have stored in there. It will say 'ready to import (insert number here) items' and then you allow it to proceed, and it will load the pictures and save it into iPhoto.
Use iPhoto, or Aperture. There is an option which would allow you to delete the photos on the camera after import.
Only the iPhoto software is replaced when updating to the new version; your library of photos is not touched.
Importing "automatically" is a preference. In iPhoto Prefs you will see the line:Connecting Camera Opens: menuSelect iPhoto.Close Prefs.
Connect the camera via USB and the drive will appear on the desktop. You can configure iPhoto to automatically download the images from the camera.
Connect the camera with a USB cable to the USB port on your mac. After a few moments an icon should appear on your desktop or in the volumes folder with the name of your camera's storage disk. If you want to copy the photos to a folder in the finder, simply open the volume and click through the folders to find the photos. You can then drag the ones you want to your hard drive. If you want to import the photos to your iPhoto library, open iPhoto and connect the camera if it is not already connected. Wait a few moments for the camera to mount. You should see the camera in the sidebar in iPhoto. Click on it, and select the option to import the photos.
plug the usb in and if you have a mac it should be in iphoto and then somehow select the video and import it
In iphoto, event is a way for you to categorize your photos. For instance, if you downloaded pictures from a digital camera and had vacations, parties, and family gatherings, you would be able to sort them in events. Also, if you look under the "help" section in iphoto, it will provide more detail in sorting events and customizing it.
The iPad has an app called 'photos'. This can link closely with iPhoto's albums, faces, places etc, but doesn't have the editing and organising aspects of iPhoto.
To have iPhoto open automatically open iPhoto's preferences and make sure that the Connecting camera opens: option is set to iPhoto. The iPod should appear in the left hand pane beneath the Library listing.
Just connect a digital camera to the iMac and turn the camera on. iPhoto will open and import the photos or videos. Be patient it may take awhile the first time you do it.
