You participate in an AnswerThon by answering other people's unanswered questions on the Answers.com website during the designated AnswerThon period (usually 48 hours).
To enter the AnswerThon, you'll need to do the following:
- If you're not already a registered user on Answers.com, you'll need to sign up on the home page by clicking on "Connect w/Facebook" and create an account.
- If there is a scheduled AnswerThon (check the AnswerThon Home Page under Related Links), sign up.
- During the scheduled AnswerThon (which is usually 48 hours), answer as many unanswered questions on the site as possible. The answers should be at least 2 sentences long, and should not contain any signature.
- Check the AnswerThon Home Page a week after the contest has ended to see who has won!

What is the AnswerThon Xtreme?
The AnswerThon Extreme is a two tier contest to see who can post the most answers in four consecutive days. It offers more time than the average AnswerThon, which is generally 48 hours. For more information on the AnswerThon, see the AnswerThon home page.
How do you enter the answer thon sweepstakes?
First of all, the AnswerThon is not a sweepstake. You must work to get the prizes on the AnswerThon, and not simply enter.The general rules of the AnswerThon are to answer all questions that haven't been answered before with at least 3 sentences, and each sentence containing a minimum of 4 words. You must be a registered user on WikiAnswers (by the way, signing up is free) and must be signed in during the event when answering questions to be eligible for a prize.Simply by signing up for a WikiAnswers account allows you to enter the AnswerThon automatically. Remember, you must answer a lot of unanswered questions in accordance to the rules listed with each AnswerThon, and to be able to get any prize, you must be at least a runner up that did not get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
