If you're wondering how to dance like an talented exotic dancer (besides just booty clapping and flopping around on stage--there's a lot more to being an exotic dancer than that), YouTube is a great place to look. Try finding some studios that teach pole and floor dancing in your area. Sheila Kelly's S Factor is a great place to learn how to move slow and sensual. Also, an awesome website is http://www.stripper-faq.org. A good key point to always remember is to dance UNDER the beat or tempo of a song, never along with it. If you dance along to the tempo, your dance will come out looking like you're at a dance club, not a gentlemen's club. So always dance slower than the song. Other than that, just visit a few clubs and take mental notes. Watch the dancers.
Many states do not have dancer licensing.
EVERYONE!
Which "dance industry" do you mean? Exotic dancers all have tattoos anymore. In ballet it's still not acceptable to have tattoos.
Based on where you are located there may be dance studios nearby that offer lessons in ballroom dancing. Doing a search in your area or looking in the local phone book for studios is a good place to start. Also Cultural Arts Centers often provide dance classes.

African traditional dance is very beautiful and expressive to watch, as well as to participate in. It is possible to learn how to do African dances from an exotic dance studio that offers this type of lessons, or from various websites and video channels that offer instruction online.
Every club has different rules and regulations enforced by the city they reside in. All of the clubs I know of in Utah do require a licence though. You can dance as an ametuer at American Bush without a licence, but you have to stay a bit more dressed than the other dancers.
Peru offers something for everyone, check out the beautiful beaches in December, explore the Inca ruins, see the fabulous exotic birds in the rain forests or if you like to dance the latin american people dance at the drop of a hat.
There are many wonderful websites that offer dance pictures. National Geographic may also offer photos of exotic dances. Ballet and theater companies also, should have unique and specific photographs of their dancers.
