That one can subdivide something infinitely does not mean they have thereby increased the distance infinitely, or at all.

Of course you get half way there first, than another half and another and another. Yet observational evidence shows that the last foot - no matter how many times you can "half" it, is going to be crossed in one step.

Zeno's paradox of the race course suggests that motion is impossible because before reaching the finish line, a runner must cover half the remaining distance, then half of the remaining half, and so on ad infinitum. This paradox challenges our understanding of space and time and raises questions about the nature of reality and the concept of infinity.

If you're racist against racists are you a racist and is that a paradox?

Racists aren't one race, so to have a disdain for them isn't really racist at all; however, if you have a disliking for the racist's race regardless if a person of the same race is even racist, then yes, you are yourself a racist.

Who wins the race Achilles or the tortoise?

In the paradox of Achilles and the tortoise, Achilles can never overtake the tortoise in a race because every time Achilles reaches the point where the tortoise was, the tortoise has moved further ahead. Mathematically, this infinite series of smaller and smaller distances means that Achilles will never catch up to the tortoise in a finite amount of time.

How did race help resolve the contradiction?

Race has historically been used to reinforce social hierarchies by assigning different groups of people perceived physical and intellectual traits. This idea of race helped to justify colonialism, slavery, and discrimination as some groups were deemed superior to others. This ideology of race has influenced social, economic, and political structures, perpetuating inequalities and maintaining power dynamics.

What is race thinking?

Race thinking refers to the categorization of people into distinct groups based on physical characteristics such as skin color or facial features, and assigning various characteristics or traits to these groups. It involves making assumptions about individuals based on their perceived racial group, and can lead to stereotypes, discrimination, and racial inequality.

What is the zenos paradox?

when a racer runs a race,he first has to cross half that distance, then half of that distance, and so on. so the racer must first cross 1/2 the distance, then 1/4 the distance, then 1/16 the distance, then 1/32 the distance, and so on. and there is a theory in place that says you cant cross a infinite number of points in a finite amount of time, so the racer can never finish the race because motion is impossible.
