He has to back up the ideas with information from a scientist in that field. I have had a lot of problems with climate change deniers. If I show information from peer reviewed articles, the person will come up with one from some off the wall magazine. I also find that some people like this like to just argue for argument sakes or that they like to have fun with you. Some just have no clue as to how science works. I also found that the more you try to explain it, the more their minds become frozen. There is no way to unfreeze them, either.
