Put the water in a tiny bowl. Or use a medicine dropper. Or not waste your time doing such useless activities.
not long unless you feed dandelion or plaintain plants to it. keep that up until it pupates. the result will be an isabela tiger moth.
My woolly bear caterpillar's favorite food is clover and a weed that grows around here (Norton Shores, Michigan) that is 5 feet tall, but has small tender leaves and tiny pink flowers that don't ever open. I will have to wait until my caterpillar turns into a moth next spring and summer so I can tell you what it will like to eat as a moth.
None, they get enough moisture fro the plants that they consume.
yes you can raise a caterpillar into a butterfly. and you feed it by putting drops of water on a leaf for the caterpillar. then it makes a cocoon. you have to wait two weeks or more.
Well, I don't know what caterpillar your trying to find out what they'll eat,but I imagine your talking about the Banded Wooly Bear moth caterpillar.I found eleven of them on the road and found that they eat grass, clovers, dandelions, twigs, and basically any leaves you put in there.I heard that they eat cabbage. You can also get either a Q-tip or cotton ball wet and stick it in their cage. They will suck out the water.Don't get it to wet, though. And if you find that they are not eating, than that means that they are probably about to hibernate.
The cinnabar moth and caterpillar feed on ragwort plants. See related link.

Caterpillar is not a bird since it does not have a beak, which is a common body part in birds. It is an insect which is not fully grown and developed. In fact most birds feed on insects including the caterpillar.
