They are a man made fish developed in a Laboratory in the Far East (Asia). The scientists/biologists artificially fertilised one Amazonian cichlid species ova with the sperm of a different species and produced the Parrot Cichlid and in a different cross the Flowerhorn too. Since they are developed from carnivorous and insectivorous fish their diet would obviously be the same as their parent species. Cichlid pellets should do the job.
