One way to make yourself feel better is to think logically - when you're down, you think things like "I'm no good," or "I'll never be able to do this." If you stop yourself, and say "LOGICALLY, I can do a lot of things good," or "REALISTICALLY, I can do this if I take it one step at a time," you'll start feeling better about things. Lots of times, just feeling better about one thing will make you start feeling better about everything!

Another way is to make yourself get out and go do something -- take a walk, play a game, or just go out with a friend and talk for awhile -- even if you don't feel like it.

NOTE: if you feel down because something bad has happened, give yourself time to grieve! It's normal to feel down when something has happened, and people often try to "get over it" before they're really through grieving. Let yourself be sad if that's the case for you, and you'll start feeling better when you're ready to let the sad thing go.
