You fight them in classic mode...to unlock them both you must play in classic mode with normal difficulty or above and with 3 or less lives, it would also not work if you use a continue if you lose all 3 lives...The best technique to fighting them is:
you will be fighting master hand until his health moves down to 150 HP
afterwards crazy hand will appear and you'll fight them both at the same time.
crazy hand will have 300 HP thus it is smarter to defeat master hand first in order to not be double teamed...It is advisable to use a fast moving character because crazy hand and generally faster in his attacks than master hand as well as him using new moves...and double teaming...Once master hand is defeated, just fight crazy hand as best you could and that should do it!! :D
