Well, I used to have a big fear of falling of off my horse. She is a paint quarter horse standing 17 1/2 hands high. She is huge. My trainer realized I had this fear of falling off when I would grab the horn of my saddle while cantering. She got a few round bells of hay and made me sit on top of them and fall off deliberately. She taught me how to tuck my arms to my chest and fall on my back or behind. It would be better to have a bruised butt than a broken arm. So, this could be a strategy to try. Silly? Maybe. But most definitely effective.
If this doesn't help.. maybe you can try sitting a couch or something and rolling onto a softer surface and work your way up to higher starting points.
I hope this helped. Thanks. --Stephanie

Warm up to them and take it slow. Try feeding them from your palm, petting and stroking them. Then, work up to riding. Being around them alot is the only way to rid of this fear.
Asshurtphobia.
jump of a house and if you survive then you know you can survive a fall off of a horse
The falling off would most likely be attributed to the fact that they did not have saddles on the horse and also to poor riding form. If you are not balanced on the horse you will fall off a lot.
you treat the fear of falling off a ledge is to jump of really high ground like a big rock on to a soft pad then once you are trained enough you go sky diving with a friend to comfort you, then you jump and get rid of the fear of falling off a ledge.

It means you fell off your horse but it was because he bucked, reared, crow hopped, ect. not because of you just losing your balance and falling, ect.
