Each division of UPS has there own Safety Department for various reasons. The minute your injury occurs, you are to immediately notify your Supervisor and his/her Supervisor. No matter how injured you may be, request that your injury be documented by the Safety Supervisor and you may document it yourself. Depending on the severity of your injury, further documentation through the Safety Department will be conducted by contacting the current corporate Insurance Provider in case you need minor medical advise or if more severe, the Safety Supervisor can provide the near by Emergency Room a claim number for emergency treatment. Just remember that you must report any injury immediately, never lie because all injuries are thoroughly investigated and termination of employment has occurred in the past. Also, doctor's notes to the Insurance Company will determine if the injury was pre-existing, degenerative or a new injury and if the injury is related to your story. If doctor's do not agree with your injury for any reason, any Worker's Compensation Claim will be denied and you will be stuck with the cost as well as out of work until you can provide a Full Doctor's Release to return to work with Regular and not Light Duty. If you are injured, and you do not receive the appropriate attention you deserve, notify Human Resources, that is partly what they are there for. Hope that helps.
