transmission fluid
Automatic transmission fluid
Dodge Coronet was created in 1965.
The motor is under the vinyl fabric that the convertible top drops into when it's down. You can access it from the trunk. There is a rubber cork in the reservoir where the fluid goes. You pull out the cork with a pliers and add the fluid up to the hole, until a little runs out. I use a turkey basting syringe. Put the cork back in and run the motor both ways a couple of times. This gets the air out of the system. Pull out the cork and add enough fluid to bring the level close to the hole. then insert the cork. If there's no leak this should do the trick.
Answer: Since about 1962 through 1965 most domestics have used ATF (transmission fluid) Some people use 10 weight motor oil with no problems. Brake fluid should never be used as it's not compatible with other fluids, and may cause damage. Be careful not to overfill, or damage may occur
