Burton L. Mack (Author of "Who Wrote the New Testament") says one can ask any question of The Bible and get some kind of answer. If the first answer does not appear to be helpful, you can look for another answer to the same question, until the right answer appears. Mack sees this happen all the time where he teaches.

Faith in what the bible say and teaches is a foundation for finding answers for these questions. Though many things the bible teaches appear to be out dated we have to look at them in context for example the bible teaches that we should not marry in the bloom of youth.

For questions of society at large? you would need to be a scholar to be able to translate 2000 years ago to today's problems. Do not recommend that.

Instead as a personal guide to issues. I.e. How YOU should act, react or view yourself and others (not society at large)? you will find such answers easily by reading the bible, talking to others who have, etc. The answer to today's issues hasn't changed in 5000 years. It's still the same old one: selfish, rebellious, disobedient man... whose overall attitude is "hostile" to his Creator. It can all be broken down into many answers, I suppose... but the first place to look in the Bible is at the end of Ecclesiastes: "...Let us hear the CONCLUSION of the matter: FEAR GOD, and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Eccle.12:13:14) That's the starting point, at least. You asked for the answer... that's it. I know it's not what anyone wants to hear (or read)... but God doesn't lie. He's our Creator and we're only His disobedient, unruly children. Of course, the nations of the world aren't going to obey that answer. We aren't about to "change" our ways and go against our nature. That's why our Creator is coming back to earth - to change our nature. "...all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my CHANGE come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire for the work of thine hands... my transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity." (Job 14:14-17) "...behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be CHANGED..." (I Cor.15:51) There's the ultimate answer - our Creator finishing what He has been working on for five to six thousand years. We naturally hate the "conclusion of the matter"... so He has to make some changes in us, so that we might be more receptive to it. "...behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah... this is the covenanat that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people." (Heb.8:8-10)

It would take up far to much space to give every quotation that would suit all of life's problems. But a reading of the bible will help solve many.

What are the most important considerations in applying for Bible School?

I think there is only one consideration, and that is about you. I spent time at Capernwray Bible School (www.capernwray.ca, www.capernwray.co.uk), and I can tell you from my experience. Make sure that Bible School is what you want, not what your parents or what your best friend wants. Find out about the Bible School you want to attend, check out their Web site. Whatever you feel is most urgent to know about, look for answers to those issues in the site. Then sit back and allow God to speak to you. I think you will find the answer that way.
