How do you find hertz?
Hertz is a unit of measure for frequency. In computers, this is
often associated with processor speeds. However, Hertz or frequency
is used in many areas of science, including the study of sound,
light, waves in general, and other areas.
Hertz is a unit for how often something happens in one second.
So 5 Hz means that it happens five times per second. Normally, this
is calculated for you. However, if you need to calculate the
frequency, there is a simple formula to use. Take 1 divided by the
period, or how long it takes to do one repetition of a what you are
measuring. So if it takes 2 seconds to do something, the frequency
would be 1/2 or .5 Hz.
