there is a model 311a double barrel shotgun made by Stevens/savage but have not heard of just an 11a. I have a 20ga 311a given to me by my grandpa and he said it was made in the fifties. You can go to Google and type in Stevens model 311 and will pull up information on this shotgun.
AnswerRemington made a model 11a but it was not a double barrel it was a semiauto.hire it done.

The Stevens 311 is a double barrel shotgun.
Yes, it's a good utility shotgun. Nothing fancy or expensive. It is a Stevens/Savage 311 with the Sears trade name.
Savage/Stevens Model 5000 very much a model 311
Sold by Sears Roebuck. Probably manufactured by Stevens.
The information you seek is somtimes hard to find because these shotguns are listed as savage/stevens which infers that these guns were made by one company savage, which owned the stevens name along with it,s own.The model in question which is a stevens model 237 was made by savage/stevens in the years 1936-1943,with a total production of 16,000 guns made.
I would have to do some searching to verify this, but I don't believe Stevens ever made a shotgun using percussion caps.
AnswerEarly Stevens shotguns did not have choke markings.sales@countrygunsmith.netOn my Savage semi-autos, a model 755A and 775A, the chokes are marked with an asterisk on the rear left side of the barrel. One for full, two for mod., three for IC.
