What is the formula of calculating tower crane load chart.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All cranes should have a load chart/ information plate mounted near the operator's position, or in the operator's cab. Also, an operator's manual should be located close at hand as well, often on the back or under the operator's seat.

What is a load chart?

A load chart....is a chart usually found on the arm of a crane. It shows you how much the machine is rated to lift at specific points of the lift under ideal conditions. In equipment with telescopic booms; the weights that it can lift varies ( the further you have to extend; the less weight it can bear), as well as turning radius under load also varies. The more you turn your crane under load the less stable your crane can become causing it to topple over if you don't abide by the chart and try to lift more then it's rated capacity. Although a load chart is the most important chart you must understand before operating a piece of machinery such as this, it does not take into account other factors that can effect a load such as; wind speed, condition of the equipment, how to rig or sling a load, or any other deciding human factor. Take a crane course before messing with this kind of equipment. Learn how to read a load chart properly. your life is worth more then the equipment that could topple over and kill you.

What is the difference between elevator lift and crane lift?

The way they lift the load.

Different between gantry crane and mobil crane?

gantry cranes are types of crane which lift objects by a hoist which is fitted in a trolley and can move horizontally on a rail or pair of rails fitted under a beam. A mobile crane is any mobile crane, i.e. one that is easily moved from one location to another, sometimes while carrying a load. Generally these cranes are fitted in trucks.

If a crane has a load balanced by a counterweight what happens to the turning moment if the load moves away from the pivot?

An additional turning moment is caused by movement away from the pivot, and will try to cause the crane to rotate in the direction of the load. (As on a see-saw, weight farther from a fulcrum exerts a larger moment in moving over a longer distance.) Unless the counterweight is also extended (in the opposite direction), the force will be applied to lifting up on the base of the crane, on the side away from the load. At the same time, the center of gravity is changed, and more of the total weight (crane and load) is shifted at the base, toward the side of the load. You can easily demonstrate this by lifting a heavy object and then extending it away from your body. The weight will shift from your heels to your toes and lean you forward.

Is a crane a pneumatic or hydrolic system and why?

Older type cranes used pneumatics for the operation of the crane's control systems. The actual movement of the crane's working components are usually operated by hydraulic cylinders or winch systems. The winch systems used to be powered by mechanical friction mechanisms but are typically powered by hydraulic motors today. Typically, pneumatics are never used to power the crane's load bearing functions

What are the possible causes for a mobile crane not to lift the rated load?

The load actually exceeds the load chart of the crane. The hydraulic pressure to the winch is set too low. The engine rpm is too low. There is too much wire rope on the drum.

What is dead load of a crane?

Dead Load is the weight of the crane components not included in the live load.

How to calculate lifting weight of tower crane?

Lifting weight of the Tower crane depend up on the specifications given.one should lift the given load approximately 18 tonns. Counterweight value is the main value.one can lift the value equal to counter weight value.

How do you select the crane for a load?

weight of load

What is the largest weight of the load that is safe to lift regardless of the angle of the crane's arm?

Use this formula to find the largest weight of a load that is safe regardless of the angle of the crane's arm: W_safe = (W*c)/(2*a)

Is a crane's working load the maximum weight it is able to lift?

The maximum load that the crane can lift is 18 metric tons (39,690 pounds), but the crane cannot lift that much weight if the load is positioned at the end of the jib. The closer the load is positioned to the mast (center of rotation), the more weight the crane can lift safely.

A giant crane in Washington DC was tested lifting a 2.232 X 106 kg load. a find the magnitude of the force needed to lift the load with a net acceleration of 0 mss?

If a giant crane is lifting a 2.232 x 10^6 kg load, to have a net force of 0 the crane will have to provide a force that counteracts the weight of this load. In this case the force must be 2.187 x 10^7 N.

Which simple machine is used in lifting a load with crane?

A crane utilizes a combination of simple machines, but the primary one involved in lifting a load is the pulley. The pulley system allows the crane to lift heavy loads with relatively less effort by applying force over a distance.
