You need to access your routers interface by logging into 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. After doing so it will ask you for a user name and password. This is usually admin/password, admin/admin, admin/1234. If none of these work for you, you can call your router manufacture to obtain the default user name and password. Once logged into the router you will need to locate the wireless setup tab, after making your selection you will see "wireless security" with the WEP information. These are general instructions because it's uncertain which router you have and all interfaces are different.
If you have trouble following these steps you can also reset the router with the reset button on the back. Don't do this unless you have the installation CD because you will need to reconfigure your router after (re-run the install CD). During the process of reinstalling you will be prompt to enter your SSID and security encryption. From there you can select WEP and generate a new WEP key.
Check your wireless router's documentation on how to find its WEP key. Assumedly your PC/laptop also connect to your router, so they should have the WEP key already or else they couldn't connect.
A wep key has nothing to do with Pokémon Pearl, it is your wireless router's password.
well, my friend. Everybody has there own different WEP key
A WEP key is get up off lazy butt and find it out your self
If you are trying to find the wep key of a router, check the bottom of it
that's what I'm trying to find out
That doesn't technically make sense - a WEP key is the password used to access an encrypted (one form of encryption at least) router. If you don't have a router, it makes no sense to ask for a WEP key - a WEP key to access what? It's like a key with no lock, the WEP key is for a router. So if there's no router, there's no point wanting a WEP key. If there is a router and you don't know the WEP key, then clearly it's someone else's router, and the encryption is precisely to stop unauthorised people using it.
The WEP key is unique to the installation. There is no master key.
Probably 578511 is an error indication but i know that a wep key has to have letters in it so 578511 is not a wep key.
it doesn't actually start with a wep key, you need to change this on the bt router configuration page which i am trying to find as well
To find your WEP key on a mobile device, go to the Wi-Fi settings and select the network you're connected to. Look for an option labeled "Advanced" or "Security," where the WEP key may be displayed. If it’s not visible, you may need to enter the network password or access your router's settings through a web browser to retrieve the WEP key. Note that WEP is considered outdated and insecure; consider using WPA2 or WPA3 for better security.
To find your WEP key for a WLAN, you can access your router's settings by entering its IP address in a web browser. Typically, this address is something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Once logged in (using the admin credentials), navigate to the wireless settings section, where you'll find the WEP key displayed. If you cannot access the router, check the device that originally connected to the network, as it may have the WEP key saved in its network settings.
