A circuit breaker, like a switch, turns power on and off by moving one conductor to touch or not touch another conductor. The gap when not touching has to be large enough that electrons cannot pass through the air to the other conductor, producing a spark. The larger the voltage, the farther it can pass through the air, and the larger the gap must be.

So the rated voltage of a circuit breaker or a fuse is the largest voltage it can safely control.

Current Rating of a circuit breaker is simply depends on the load of electrical circuit after circuit breaker + Some Safety Factor. e.g. if i am having 2 electrical drives of rating 100Amp each and 10Amps extra for its control circuit current ,then total load will be 100X2+10*2 = 220Amps. Then we need to take some safety factor [Minimum 125%].suppose i am taking 150% then load current will be 220*1.5 =330Amps. In taking this much of current in consideration,Select the available standard rating for Breaker.

On home breakers, it should be specified. these are typically 10, 15, or 20 amp breakers (except for the main breaker). There are two actual ratings, the load rating (10, 15, or 20 amp) and the interrupting rating (when a fault occurs, how much current the breaker can open). Both of these should be written on the breaker itself.

If you are interested in larger breaker ratings, then you should find the manufacturer and model if you do not have more information (such as test reports, manufacturer documentation, etc.), and request this information from the manufacturer.
