when you say death metal distortion I asume you're reffering to the digitech one. I'd say the metalzone is better as it's more versatile and doen't give as much feedback. but they're both decent. However,, If you're referring to the D.O.D. death metal than I would go for that hands down if you can find one. (they're discontinued) THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!
