How do you make a scrunchy?
This probably isn't the easiest way to make scrunchies, but it's
a good way. You basically fingerknit a patch that's about 6 in. But
you can make it bigger or smaller if you want to.
If you don't know how to fingerknit, follow these
instructions:
1. Make a lasso. To do this, you take the end of the yarn you
are using and hold it so a piece about an inch is hanging on one
side. This will sound very confusing, but then you put it behind
the long piece of yarn, then in front, then you go behind the loop
and put it through from behind. Then you will see a tiny loop and
you put the piece of yarn down through there.
2.Put the lasso on your first finger with your palm faces toward
you. Put the extra yarn behind your hand. Then you make loops
around your remaining three fingers. (You don't use your thumb.)
You do this to the right.
3. Then once you've put a loop around your pinkie, you put the
yarn across all of your fingers starting from the left. You put
this above the loops on your fingers. Then. starting from the
right, you take the bottom string on your pinkie and put it over
your finger. You do the same with the rest of your fingers, going
to the left.
4.You put loops around your fingers again, from left to right
and from left to right pull the bottom string over your finger.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you get the length of a "scarf"
you want. Take the loops off your fingers, cut the yarn so you have
about 5 inches extra, put the yarn through the loops put a knot at
the end. Then you sew or tie together the two ends and then you
have a scrunchy!!!
