How do you adjust clutch cable on golf 97?

The 97 usually has a clutch cable that is self-adjusting. This cable usually gets replaced when a new clutch is installed, as it is difficult to un-adjust it once it adjusts for clutch wear. Some enthusiasts fit their car with the old-style manual adjusting clutch cable, in a belief that is helps clutch feel and prolongs clutch life. The clutch cable itself is between the motor and the battery, a big black thing that hooks into the transmission's front clutch release lever. IF you have a friend push the clutch in and out, you can easily see it operate if you're looking under the hood.

Can you adjust a clutch on a Peugeot 806?

No you can't: the clutch on the Peugeot 806 is operated by a self-adjusting cable, so there is no need/facility to manually adjust it. One important point to note if you are replacing the clutch cable - the cable's self-adjusting mechanism is situated towards the pedal end of the cable, at the point at which the cable passes through the bulkhead. It comes with a plastic shroud around the mechanism and this shroud must NOT be removed until the replacement cable is fitted at both ends, i.e., at the gearbox end and at the pedal end. Once the cable is so connected, the plastic shroud can be removed, the clutch pedal can be depressed, and the cable will then automatically adjust itself. Also note that there are two cables available for this vehicle of differing length: 1760mm length cable to fit the ME gearbox, and 1578mm length cable to fit the ML gearbox. Either check your gearbox type or measure the old cable first to ensure you have the correct one.

Will a 1995 civic transmission fit in a 1990 civic?

No, the 1990 civic transmission is a cable operated clutch and the 1995 civic is a hydraulic operated clutch. So unless you rig up a hydraulic clutch system(Master cylinder, pedal, slave cylinder, lines...) it will not work. But a company called "Hasport" makes a bracket that has a cable attachment that operates the clutch engagement and disengagement.
