Replace the camshaft sensor
54 No camshaft signal detected during engine cranking.**
Code 11 means no camshaft position sensor signal detected during engine cranking. Fix : Replace the Camshaft sensor
Code 54-No cam signal at the PCM-No camshaft position sensor signal detected during engine cranking.

MIL Code 11 = No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking. Good luck!
No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking. Replace the distributor pick up plate.
Code 11 means: Intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor,/No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking/Timing belt skipped 1 tooth or more from initial learned value Could be any of the above, need to check with a scanner to check sensor readings.

The code 12 on a 1996 Plymouth Voyager indicates the battery was disconnected within the last 50 key cycles. The codes 54 and 55 relate to issues with the camshaft sensor or camshaft-related components.
the camshafts are identical, take the bolt out of the camshaft sprocket and you will see how the camshaft pin is positioned, that is what makes a intake camshaft or a exhaust camshaft
Backfiring is usually an indication of a lean condition. When it does it during cranking, it's probably timing related.
When cranking, the ballast resistor is bypassed to give a hotter spark. If during cranking you do not have power at the coil, but when the key is turned to run you do; there is a problem with the bypass circuit (sometimes it comes from the starter motor solenoid wire)
