really that's not enough information. but, if your inquiring about a ford, there is a ignition switch (not to be confused with the key switch) on the top of the column. it is easy to replace and dosent cost alot for the switch.
Usually, replace the spark plugs and/or the #2 ignition coil.
You don't. You change the ignition switch.
my 1985 ford crown Victoria ignition has locked up! what do i do?
I am no mechanic but i just had my ignition coils changed on my ford expedition and there are 8 it was expensive to fix .
Most likely the door jamp switch is bad. You will need to replace it.
yes. do not use it.
You cannot "fix" it, you need to "replace" it.
To fix the ignition switch on a 1991 Mercury Cougar that is going past the start position, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the steering column cover to access the ignition switch, then inspect the switch for wear or misalignment. If necessary, adjust the switch position or replace it if it's damaged. Reassemble the column, reconnect the battery, and test the ignition to ensure it operates correctly.
You can huge amounts of WD-40 to the lock cylinder of your lock key and move your key inside and outside many times while trying to turn your ignition on in order to break free your locked steering wheel of your 2003 Ford Focus.
you must check the brake pedal release switch it will have probably failed at the same time as the ignition switch was replace by coincidence or you bumped the wire off replacing the ignition switch
Best to remove the ignition cylinder and open up the little door on the side. Turn over and shake vigorously until all the springs and tumblers are gone. Close the door and reinstall in the steering column. Since it has to have the RFID in the key to start, it is about the same as going to a push-button ignition. (It's also fun to ask passengers to hold your keys as you're driving down the road) =)
