Check the connections to the TV. Also, there's a chance your contact pins could be dirty. Check with multiple games to see if it's just one game or the entire system. Either way, there may be cleaning kits out there. Don't blow on the contacts, though, because the moisture in your breath can make them corrode.
There are many solution, try one of them and see which will work for you.
hopefully one of these trick will work.
Try switching the av cord.
Sound like the audio portion of the A/V cable is faulty.
If the N64 powers on and no image problem continues, but you can hear sound then the sound portion of the A/V cord is damaged. Get a new cable.
It's not working because the A/V cord is broken. If it is ripped in half, there is no way to fix it. Just order a new one.
I would reccomend buying a new cord for it. The colored cords, by the way. They're not that hard to get ahold of; any Nintendo gamecube uses the same cord.
I would say no because this game console is so old. however there are second hand game stores that still buy and sell nintendo 64s and the games as well.

1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64.
There are just under 300 games for the N64. Now this game count is only for NAL games (North America), there are games that were released in Japan and Europe that were not here. So there are more, but for North America it is just under 300. .j.
A Nintendo 64 is an old console, but it is really, really good for the technology that was available when it was made. It takes virtually no time to load at all during games and many of the games made for Nintendo 64 have been very highly rated and very popular such as the Legend of Zelda (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask), Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye. However, the graphics are not as good as that of the newer consoles such as Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360 and the control sticks on Nintendo 64 controllers tend to wear out really quickly.I think Nintendo 64s are really awesome and they're not very expensive; about $50 at most and about $20 to $30 for a controller.
