In general, the term for dislocation is luxation, and a partial dislocation is subluxation. Since you specifically asked about the elbow, there are two bones that could have been dislocated from the humerus, the radius and the ulna. Ulnar luxation is pretty rare, but radial subluxation is actually pretty common, and is easy to fix. So the term you are probably looking for is radial head subluxation.

No it is not
If you believe you have dislocated your elbow (there will be large amounts of pain involved, as well) you should immediately see a doctor. Waiting any period of time could result in permanent damage to nerves and tissue.
Yes I have: broken thumb, dislocated shoulder, L-5 vertebrae stress fracture, fractured growth plate in heel, dislocated elbow, Achilles tendonitis, shin splints, broken nose
Push the knuckle in front then there ya go
the most common area that gets dislocated in the body is the shoulder.
Only your doctor can advise you on this. You may need to have the ligaments surgically repaired to get full (or most) function back.
I would suggest you go to the vet right away. I bet the vet could fix it with the right tools and everything. Hope I helped.
If it is painful, my best guess would be a dislocated shoulder. That allows you to keep movement of your elbow down, but not your shoulder.
