Sounds like you need to clean the carb, adjust the choke and put in a new fuel filter and air filter. Check your PCV valve too and make sure it's not stopped up. More description of your problem is needed. Does it hesitate when you first press the accelerator then run normally after a second or two? Do you have to do anything to get it to stop hesitating? Does anything seem to make it better or worse? The above suggestions are a great start. How long has it been since this ol girl has had a tune up? Is the vacuum line running to the spark control computer intact and not leaking? Has anyone adjusted the ignition timing? (If not, don't. Check the vacuum lines, especially running to the spark control computer.) I have this same year and model, and it hesitated badly when I first got it. My problem turned out to be a faulty vacuum line running between the carb and the computer. After 21 years I guess they get brittle. ;-) Good luck.

if it was cold then ur engine wasnt warmed up that is one reason. or it was to hot out and ur radiator isn't working properly and it overheate. did it start after a while??
