Before trying any repair on the window, check the fuse and make sure it is not blown. If it is, replace it. Make sure the wires leading to the fuse box and all tightly in place. If this doesn't fix the problem, check the window control switch. If it is dirty, clean it and see if the window works. If not, remove the switch and set aside. Remove the access panels on the door. Use an automotive test light to check all of the electrical wiring in the door. Tape the window in place to prevent it slipping. Replace the window motor and the window regulator. Remove tape and make sure window works.

MY DRIVERS WINDOW WAS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION, I CHANGED THE WINDOW SWITCH BUT IT DID NOT HELP, I FOUND OUT THAT WHEN I USE THE EXPRESS DOWN THE WINDOW STICKS IN THE DOWN POSITION. I BANGED ON THE DOOR PANEL AND IT STARTED WORKING. NOW I DO NOT USE THE EXPRESS AND I DON'T RUN THE WINDOW ALL THE WAY DOWN TILL I CAN SWAP IT OUT
If the window is stuck in the down position on a Chevy Silverado, the door panel will have to come off to access the cable mechanism and fix the window. If the windows are electric, there will also be the wiring assembly for the window to remove.
same way hold the switch down and slam the door shut.
the window motor might be bad or there is not of power in your cords to power it
If you can still here the motor for the window working, you can try making it go in the up and then down position (you should be able to feel and here it make the sound it makes when the window is going up and down.) After a few times of doing this, leave it in the down position, then gently but firmly push the window all the way down until you can almost not see the window anymore. Then, click the button to make it go up and mine works after doing that. Mine usually does that when it's really cold outside.
Probably the the motor/regulator assembly. I was able to pull mine up with my hands then tape it up. A new motor/regulator cost me $300.
a million dollar idea waiting to happen!
Eat it
There is no normal correlation between replacing the battery and the failure of a power window. It may be a bad switch that just coincidentally happened to fail at about the same time as the battery replacement.
The power down module is located on the inside of the door panel itself under the armrest. If there is a problem with this module (ie unplugged, stuck etc) the driver's side window will not operate.
my power windows quit working, both driver and passanger door switches dont work. i tested all fuses and they work. i think its a power window relay. please help! my windows are stuck down ;-(
