Depends what's wrong with it but most likely needs rebuilding. Difficult to remove in driveway but can be done...Disconnect battery. Starter is located on the back of the engine. Remove the 10 & 13 mm nuts on the solenoid, then remove the 2 13mm bolts that hold the starter to the block. For the upper bolt you need an extension (6inch) to reach the bolt head. Remove the starter and either have rebuilt or install new.
