It could be the fan switch mounted on the n/s of the radiator. Easy job, but if you've overheated the engine there may be further problems.

Most likely one of the control rods have come loose. It COULD be the lock mechanism, but probably not.

this engine will fit you will have to change the injecter pump as the newer one has code for it and will not match ,also the manifolds and engine mounts need changing as they slighty different otherwise they swop

I had this problem with my 106 and it turned out that the thermostat was broken.
As long as it comes of the same type of engine out of a citroen saxo, it will fit the peugeot 106
