To temporarily repair the E74 rrod error on the xbox360, you will need:
1. A broken Xbox360
2. Two paperclips
First, take the two paper clips and fold them out until they are straight. Now, take the paperclips and stick them in the back of the xbox where the fans are and block them. Then, turn on the xbox. You will see the red light. Come back to the xbox in about 15-30 minutes. Now, you should see two red lights. Turn off your xbox. Leave off for 10-15 minutes or when cool. Your xbox should be good for a couple of plays until you have to repeat the process again.

They say they have but there is no telling if it is true. They shipped out a new shipment that they say they fixed, but ofcourse all the stores will continue to try and sell the corrupted xbox360's that get the RROD. So there is not telling when the FIXED xbox360's will actually be sold.
