When a pool leaks, water can go into the ground surrounding the pool or into the drainage system if the pool is connected to one.
I have a 15' above ground pool, when we installed the pool it was a little uneven (not even 1") now that the pool has been up for a while it has settled and now the side that was lower is off by about 3-4". How can I fix this without draining the whole pool?
The only way to fix a bulging steel wall of an in-ground pool in the deep end is to dig up that area of ground. Then the wall can be repaired, shored up, or replaced.
If the ground on the outside of the pool is is reasonably wet you may find that water will seep into the pool where it leaks. Be careful with an empty pool ground water can make them float up and out of position if you do not have a hydrostatic valve in the bottom.
only way to fix it is relevel it drain it all out and level the ground correctly
You first of all have to find out what is causing the slab to heave. If you fix the slab then within a two year period you will be redoing the slab again. You may have a leak in the plumbing of the pool or a leak in the house plumbing or to the garden hose. Fix all the leaks and then replace the slab.
No, I have not used homemade pool leak dye to identify leaks in my pool.
No , above ground pools are different in that you can drain them , the reason you cannot drain an in ground pool is because the pool is built to have water pressure , and it is very stressful on the walls , I hope this answered your question :) .
The answer would be entirely dependent on the type of pool (above ground, below ground) and the material it is built from (cement, fiberglass, etc.) and the type of defect (crack, chip, hole, stains, rust, growth, etc.)
The most common above ground pool leaks are usually found in the liner, filter system, or plumbing connections. To identify a leak, look for drops in water level, wet spots around the pool, or air bubbles in the pump. To repair effectively, patch the liner with a repair kit, tighten or replace fittings in the filter system, and seal any leaks in the plumbing connections with waterproof sealant.
No recent pool leaks have been reported in the area.
You would break the ice and drain the water. Then you can fix whatever needs to be fixed. Hope this helps!
