The motors in motorized awnings are built-in and not meant to be replaced. They're a special type of motor that is made specifically for operating the awning's lateral arm. Most are only one horsepower. You don't need a lot of horsepower for an awning. Some do use more voltage than others though.
Steam engines have been replaced by electric motors for most applications.
