Make sure your VGA cable is completely connected. Make sure it is pushed and screwed in tight (not too tight).
Check your cord from the computer and monitor. If that is ok check your video card.

Usually a no signal message means that the video card is not detecting the monitor. An easy way to fix this is to download the latest drivers for your video card and it should detect the monitor.

Someone can make his or her own computer monitor shelf, by buying a shelf in a do-it-yourself shop. Buy it together with some stuff to fix it to the wall and voila.

Checking that the computer and monitor are both working; that connections between the computer and monitor are correctly configured and that the output of the computer is set to something that the monitor can handle may help fix the problem.
